The Confidence to Approach God

Writer's picture: Dan NewburgDan Newburg

Jesus encourages us to approach God with the same confidence and persistence as a friend knocking at midnight. In ancient Middle Eastern culture, hospitality was a sacred duty, and this cultural context helps us understand the urgency and boldness required in our prayers. Our Heavenly Father is even more willing to respond to our needs than an earthly friend. This assurance should fill us with confidence as we come before God in prayer, knowing that He is always ready to listen and respond.

Bible Verse

'Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.' - Luke 11:9

Reflection Question

How can you approach God with more confidence and persistence in your prayers today?

Prayer

Heavenly Father, thank You for always being ready to listen to my prayers. Help me to approach You with confidence and persistence, trusting in Your willingness to respond to my needs. Amen.
