The Cost of Forgiveness

Forgiveness is not easy; it often involves voluntary suffering. God’s justice demands that debts be repaid, and Jesus repaid our debts because we could never do it on our own. This act of ultimate sacrifice shows the cost of true forgiveness. Reflect on the sacrifices you’ve made to forgive others and the sacrifices others have made to forgive you. Remember, forgiveness is a reflection of God’s grace and justice.

Bible Verse

Hebrews 8:12: 'For I will forgive their wickedness and will remember their sins no more.'

Reflection Question

What sacrifices have you made to forgive someone? How does understanding the cost of forgiveness change your perspective?

Prayer

Jesus, thank You for paying the ultimate price for my forgiveness. Help me to understand the cost of forgiveness and to be willing to make sacrifices to forgive others. Amen.
