The Cost of Forgiveness

Consider the cost that Christ paid just for you to be forgiven. Forgiveness is not cheap; it’s costly. Jesus chose suffering rather than retaliating. He bore the cost of our sins so that we could be forgiven. When we forgive others, we are choosing to bear the cost of their wrongs against us. This is a form of voluntary suffering, but it’s also a powerful act of love. By forgiving, we reflect the heart of Christ and His sacrifice on the cross.

Bible Verse

'We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to our own way; and the Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us all.' - Isaiah 53:6

Reflection Question

Are you willing to bear the cost of forgiving others, just as Christ bore the cost for your forgiveness?

Prayer

Heavenly Father, thank You for the sacrifice of Jesus. Help me to understand the cost of forgiveness and to willingly bear it for others. Amen.
