The Heart of Forgiveness

To be forgiven is to be forgiving. If you can keep score of what others have done to you, then you clearly do not understand the forgiveness Jesus has made available to you with the cross. Forgiveness is not about keeping score but about losing count. It’s about letting go of the hurt and choosing to love. Jesus bore the cost of our sins on the cross, and in doing so, He showed us the ultimate act of forgiveness. Let’s follow His example and forgive without keeping score.

Bible Verse

'Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.' - Colossians 3:13

Reflection Question

Are you keeping score of the wrongs done to you, or are you choosing to forgive as Jesus did?

Prayer

Lord Jesus, help me to forgive without keeping score. Teach me to let go of grudges and to love as You have loved me. Amen.
