The Importance of Persistence

Writer's picture: Dan NewburgDan Newburg

Meaningful prayer time with the Father should be present in the life of a follower of Jesus, but that doesn't make meaningful prayer any less difficult for any of us to actually practice. Persistence in prayer is key. Just as the friend in the parable of Luke 11:5-8 kept knocking until he received what he needed, we too must persist in our prayers, trusting that God hears us and will respond in His perfect timing.

Bible Verse

'Before a word is on my tongue you, Lord, know it completely.' - Psalm 139:4

Reflection Question In what areas of your life do you need to be more persistent in prayer?

Prayer

Lord, help me to be persistent in my prayers, even when it feels difficult. Remind me that You know my needs even before I speak them, and that You are always listening. Amen.
