Understanding Forgiveness

Forgiveness is a choice. It’s not an easy one, but it’s a necessary one. When we choose to forgive, we are not saying that what happened is okay. Instead, we are choosing to release the hold that the offense has on us. Forgiveness is a form of voluntary suffering, but it is also a path to healing and freedom. Reflect on the times you have been forgiven and how it transformed your life. Remember, God’s forgiveness is not a simple snap of the fingers; it’s a profound act of grace.

Bible Verse

Psalm 130:3-4: 'If you, O Lord, should mark iniquities, O Lord, who could stand? But with you there is forgiveness…'

Reflection Question

Can you recall a time when you were forgiven? How did it change your perspective and relationships?

Prayer

Lord, help me to understand the depth of Your forgiveness. Give me the strength to choose forgiveness, even when it’s hard. Amen.
